Fantasy football can make you go mad. Big mistakes are made on the waiver wire. This advice will make you think about your team less, and give you time for more important things. Eagles and Ragin’ Cajuns are in fashion this week!
Additions To The Squad
Jerick McKinnon RB – Minnesota Vikings – Owned in 27.0% of NFL.com Leagues
Jerick McKinnon exploded on Monday night against Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears. With Dalvin Cook out for the season, it looks as if McKinnon has taken over the backfield. McKinnon out snapped counterpart Latavius Murray 47 to 22. McKinnon turned those 47 snaps into 16 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown. The fourth-year pro was effective in the pass game as well catching five passes for 51 yards.
Not to mention, for the remainder of the season the Vikings have the seventh easiest schedule for runningbacks. The former Georgia Southern Eagle is looking to end 2017 with a bang.
Elijah McGuire RB – Indianapolis Colts – Owned in 5.5% of NFL.com Leagues
Bilal Powell went down with a calf injury on Sunday, which opened things up for a certain Ragin’ Cajun. The Louisiana Lafayette product struggled against a stout Browns run defense, rushing for just 20 yards on 11 attempts. Elijah McGuire has 34 carries for 176 yards and one touchdown thus far in 2017. McGuire boasts a 5.2 yards per carry, while Powell is averaging just 4.7 yards per rush.
With the possibility of Bilal Powell and Matt Forte being out this week, McGuire could completely take over the Jets backfield. McGuire is a solid pass catcher as well, he proved this throughout his career at Louisiana Lafayette catching 129 balls in four years.
Cut Em Loose
Terrance West RB – Baltimore Ravens – Owned in 41.8% of NFL.com Leagues
Terrance West’s future in Baltimore is disappearing. West has been a ghost as of late, carrying the ball just 12 times in the last three weeks for 36 yards. Javorius Allen and young gun Alex Collins have both out snapped West in their last three contests. West is known to be a power back, however, he has just two redzone carries since Week 2.
West aggravated a recurring calf injury on Sunday, and it does not look like the Ravens will be waiting around for him. The Towson product has no business being on anyone’s fantasy roster right now.
Donte Moncrief WR – Indianapolis Colts – Owned in 72.0% of NFL.com Leagues
The fact that Moncrief is still owned by 72.0% of fantasy owners is disappointing. This will be easy, to sum up for all of you out there; unless Andrew Luck is the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, do not even look at Donte Moncrief.
It seems that Jacoby Brissett is warming up to Kamar Aiken more than Moncrief. Aiken has almost double the amount of targets than Moncrief does in the last two weeks. Aiken also played 67 snaps last week, while Moncrief only played 53. Moncrief is getting less and less opportunity every week. Donte Moncrief’s fantasy value is on a downward spiral, just like his Ole Miss Rebels in 2017.
