Monday Night Football: Washington vs. Kansas City

Week 4’s Monday night matchup features two teams from two different conferences as the Washington Redskins travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are coming off of impressive Week 3 victories as the Redskins embarrassed the Raiders on Sunday night, and the Chiefs scored a divisional victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Skinny

The Washington Redskins have done an excellent job shaking off a week one loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a pair of wins over the Rams and Raiders. Washington’s passing offense was impressive in last week’s win, as was running back Chris Thompson who has been using his quick burst to burn opposing defenses. The Kansas City Chiefs have been rolling on all cylinders since the first kickoff of the season as they have scored wins over the Patriots, Eagles, and Chargers. Rookie running back Kareem Hunt has been the best runner in the NFL through three weeks and I do not see that stopping tonight against the Redskins. While Washington features one of the best corners in football with Josh Norman, I do not believe they have a linebacker who can match up well against Travis Kelce. It will be hard to stop Kansas City’s offense this season, and I do not think the Redskins have the pieces to do it. I also do not think Washington’s run game will be able to get much going against Kansas City’s strong front. The Chiefs should be able to get the job done at home in front of one of the leagues best crowds.

Score Prediction: Washington 21, Kansas City 30

Kansas City: RB Kareem Hunt, WR Tyreek Hill, TE Travis Kelce

Washington: WR Terrelle Pryor, WR Josh Doctson

Kansas City: QB Alex Smith

Washington: RB Chris Thompson, RB Rob Kelley, WR Jamison Crowder, TE Jordan Reed
